I have always loved writing for pleasure, and have written fiction to amuse myself ever since I can remember. Since going to university, and graduating with a degree in Egyptology (with some focus on Ancient Greek and Rome), I have really come to enjoy writing non-fiction as well.

I have many interests, but history is probably the main one. Although my degree focused on ancient history, I am not discriminatory - there is a great deal of interest in all periods of history. Castles and historical sites are places I am instantly drawn to, wherever I am. Learning new things is something I really enjoy, so carrying out the research for my writing is a lot of fun for me.

Aside from history, I love travelling and exploring new places. I am currently learning Spanish both for my own enjoyment and also to further my travels - there is nothing like being able to immerse yourself in the culture of a country and stray off the tourist path. As well as these things, food is another passion of mine, and I love both eating and cooking!
